Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

Today we had our 3rd annual trip to Sesame Street Live!  Since I was not blogging during our first 2 Sesame Street Live experiences, I took a quick trip down memory lane this evening, looking through the previous years' pictures.  It made me miss the younger versions of our boys - they are growing so, so fast!  So, instead of just today's Sesame Street Live, you get 3 years worth of Sesame Street in this one post!  Hurray!  Okay, I might be the only one excited about this.

The first year we went to Sesame Street Live, Grayson was a few months shy of his 3rd birthday and Harrison was about 4 months old.  Needless to say, it was a very different experience than this year!!  Grayson was super excited that year.  It was his first character experience of any kind, and he couldn't believe his eyes.  He was glued to the entire performance.  Harrison was impressed with Grayson's light-up toy and that was about it.  He went to sleep about halfway through and stayed out for the remainder of the show.  Here are just a few pics from Sesame Street Live 2012...

SO EXCITED beforehand!
Waiting for the show to start!
Harrison's impressed with Grayson's toy!
Sweet, sleeping baby!
Enraptured!
Waving bye to everyone at the end of the show!
Grayson had SUCH a good time at Sesame Street Live that Saturday, and the tickets weren't expensive, so... Daddy totally took him back the next day!!  We deliberated over whether it was overkill or spoiling him to take him to same show twice.  But the inexpensive tickets combined with the joy on his face made the decision for us.  So, after church and a quick lunch, Daddy and Grayson headed back for another round of Sesame Street that Sunday afternoon, while Harrison and I stayed home for naps.  Afterwards, when I saw this picture of Grayson during the show, I knew the second show was totally worth it!!

A year later, Grayson was nearly 4 and Harrison was nearly 18 months.  Grayson was super excited because he remembered how awesome the show was the previous year.  Harrison had no idea what he was in for, of course!  He was obviously more into it than the previous year, but the show only held his attention for about the first half.  We did enjoy all the fun photo-ops beforehand last year!  So, here are the highlights of Sesame Street Live 2013...

This year our outing to Sesame Street Live was a surprise for the kids.  Mostly because we've had a few bugs over the last couple weeks, and in the event someone got sick, I didn't want them disappointed about missing Sesame Street on top of not feeling well.  So, we waited until today to tell them that we were going to see Sesame Street Live!  At breakfast, they found out we were going to do something fun, and to look for clues to figure out where we'd be going.  Here they are wondering what the surprise will be...

And celebrating when they figured it out!  We dressed them in their matching Sesame Street shirts from last year, and that's the clue that gave it away... We also managed to keep up with their souvenirs from last year, so they could take them along, which was pretty awesome.

This year BOTH boys were super excited!  Grayson knew exactly what to expect.  Harrison did not remember the previous years, but he understood we were going to see "Ehmo, Cookie, and Zoe-wheee" and that's all he needed to know to get excited!!

Waiting for the show to start!

They were both pretty excited about popcorn too... as you can see here, once the popcorn showed up, there was no more pausing to look at cameras!!  While Daddy was gone to get the popcorn, Grayson was dancing in his seat and saying "This is some good music!", but all Harrison had to say was "Yay!! Popcorn!!"

They both thoroughly enjoyed the show this year.  When it ended, Grayson said "That's the end??  Already??"  Harrison did start to have some trouble sitting still towards the end, but he was just trying to get closer to the show.

Grayson asked for some "cotton" during intermission.

Harrison waving "bye" to all the characters at the end of the show reminded me of Grayson during his first show.

And Harrison looked a little too grown up walking out with his Elmo tucked under his arm...

Two years of Harrison & Elmo!

And that wraps up Sesame Street Live 2014!  Grayson's already asking when all the Sesame Street people will come back for another visit!
